The 1962 Pontiac Tempest Lemans was a unique car in the Pontiac and GM stable, it featured a 4 Cyl engine which was basically a Pontiac 389 ci engine cut in half. The car had no transmission so the floorboard of the car was flat, allowing for 6 passengers with full bench seats front and rear. The car featured a rope drive from the engine to a transaxle differential with independent rear suspension. The differential was a 2 speed transaxle very much like what the corvair used. The car was available in 2 door, 4 door and convertible. This particular car is a third owner vehicle, it was originally purchased in NY in which it spent most of its time garaged, it later was purchased from the estate by a gentleman in Arizona who owned it for a short while then selling it to its current owner. The car is a 100% complete survivor, original paint, original engine, original interior, all original except for replacement hoses and belts and minor maintenance items. The vehicle has 37000 original miles, it still has the original spare tire, trunk liner and all jack equipment un-molested.
