Last MGB that was built was in 1980. This vehicle in 2017 had a 1,700 hour complete rotisserie restoration. The car originally was blue with a tan interior and restored with the same colors. Apart from the 1,700 hours, this vehicle required $17,500 in parts, material, and complete rebuild of drive train. The total cost of this restoration including labor hours is approximately $187,000.
Additional equipment installed that was never offered, was added including leather interior, air conditioning, auxiliary cooling fan, wood grain steering wheel, custom ordered blue strip radial tires, and a special order aluminum valve cover. This car was also built with an optional 4 speed transmission with 2 overdrive gears.
I purchased the car from the original owner with 49,600 miles and presently has 51,750 miles. In closing this MGB has won numerous awards for outstanding British Car Restoration.
