BRIEF MANUFACTURER DETAILS AND SIGNIFICANT HISTORY OF CAR:

The Austin Mini was built from 1959 to 2000, with over 5.3 million cars made. It was small on the outside but had lots of space inside, thanks to a clever design by Sir Alec Issigonis. The Mini used a front-wheel-drive system with the engine mounted sideways (transverse layout) — a smart idea that is still used in most small cars today. It was cheap to buy, fun to drive, and quickly became a symbol of 1960s British style. It was also very successful in racing, winning the Monte Carlo Rally several times. The Mini changed the way small cars were made and is still one of the most important vehicles in automotive history.
