The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobiles known as pony cars. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition. It was introduced on April 17, 1964, as a hardtop and convertible, with the fastback version following in August 1964. Upon introduction, the Mustang, sharing its platform with the Falcon, was slotted into the compact car segment.BRIEF STORY OF THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE:  I own a first generation 1964.5 mustang.    Our Mustang was Originally in Kansas and was registered till 1975. It’s a two owner car. The Mustang is an F Code Mustang, Red Rangoon paint Car with White and red trim Interior. The fabrication date on this Car is April 7,1964.  It is powered by 260 the little v8 that was installed in the newly introduced Mustang in April 1964 and was offered only until August. The 260 was an overhead valve 90 Degree V8 engine. F code – The Windsor V-8 was only used for the same 1964.5 model year. It offered 164 horsepower. The assembly plant was Dearborn Michigan. The DSO dealer was Kansas City.  The Car currently has 86,700 original miles. This is an original survivor car.
