The Triumph Spitfire is a British sports car manufactured over five production iterations between 1962 and 1980. Styled for Standard-Triumph in 1957 by Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti, the Spitfire was introduced at the London Motor Show in 1962. Approximately 315,000 produced over 18 years
Developed on a shortened variant of the Triumph Herald saloons chassis, the Spitfire shared the Heralds running gear and Standard SC engine.
The model was named after the famed Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane of World War II
BRIEF STORY OF THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE:
This particular Spitfire has been a Florida car all its life. It has had 4 owners; it was restored by its second owner Rick Zink who is currently the president of the British Car Club of Miami. Rick sold it to Corey Gold who was the president of the club before him. Corey then sold it to Blas Cardonne whom never registered the car under his name because after he purchased the car he noticed the car was way too small for him and could not drive it. Blas proceeded to sell the car to it its current owner Santiago who is also a member of the British Car Club of Miami.
