BRIEF MANUFACTURER DETAILS AND SIGNIFICANT HISTORY OF CAR:

In 1965 Rolls-Royce added a series of 2 door Saloons and Drophead Coupes to the Silver Shadow model creating a revolutionary design for the firm. Although a boxy, square styling, it was instantly recognizable as a Rolls-Royce, with its upright grill Spirit of Ecstasy radiator mascot.

In 1971 Mulliner Park Ward, a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce, developed the Corniche as a

two-door version of the Silver Shadow, from the original designed in 1965. It was

produced as a hardtop Coupe (from 1971 to 1980) and a Convertible (from 1971 to 1995).

Originally referred to as a Drophead Coupe, in 1971 it was renamed the “CORNICHE”,

inspired by the Cliff Road along the French Riviera.

This 1985 version features built-in Bars in each door with 4 French Crystal whiskey glasses and a flask. It weighs 5000 pounds, is over 17 feet long and close to 5 feet high. It took approximately 20 weeks to produce.

In 1985 this car sold for $165,000, taking 20 weeks to produce. The coachwork is by Rolls Royce’s owned subsidiary, Mulliner Park Ward. The model remained in production until 1993 when it was replaced by a new model of the same name.
