2026 South Florida Region Annual BBQ

It was an amazing day with perfect weather, not a cloud in the sky and a great breeze coming off the lake in the park. 62 members gathered together to have a great time, talk cars, talk about life and everything in between.
Thank you to all who brought the delicious appetizers, side dishes and desserts, along with the board members all chipping in to cook and prepare all the toppings and condiments. We had burgers, hot dogs, sausage, grilled and raw onions, bacon, tomato, lettuce, pickles, relish, mustard & ketchup the AACA would give Fudruckers a run for their money. There was everything to make the perfect burger or dog!
The cooking duties were shared between Tomas, Ben and Al. Jorge handled beverages and entertainment and Jean toppings and condiments. Everyone pitched in and it couldn’t have been a better experience, everyone was already talking about next year. Card tables and dominoes tables were available for members to play games and enjoy
Awards were given for the homemade pot luck dishes the members brought to share, and there was a little bit of everything, all delicious and deserving of an award, but unfortunately only a few took the honors.
 
Appetizers in first place was Diane’s Brie with Strawberries and second place was Justo’s Tortilla Española.
Side Dishes first place was Ira’s special grilled onions and second place went Ana’s Garbanzos (chick peas)
Desserts was a tough one but first place went to Artie with his Banana pudding and second went to Isabel with her Flan de Coco.
 
Other awards were given for the person that traveled the longest distance to get to the BBQ and other awards to the eldest member in attendance which was given to past president Maurice.
Complimentary Oil Change certificates were awarded and those were donated by Ford of Kendall and Williamson Cadillac each contributed 2 certificates to be awarded to our members.

2024 South Florida Region Annual BBQ

It was the perfect day with a great breeze for the 2024 South Florida Region Picnic, with over 80+ members in attendance it turned out to be a great success. The BBQ was catered by Shorty’s BBQ as it was last year, for a delish helping of Ribs, Chicken, Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob and we had an amazing  bunch of appetizers, side dishes and desserts presented by our members! Prizes were given to the selected side dishes presented by members and judged on by members as well.

We had many members come out with their antique and classic cars to the event, some won awards for traveling the longest distance, others for oldest vehicle in attendance. We also had a raffle give away and as a new surprise we gave away two renewals for 2025 to the winning members. Waldo Duran and George Harvey each won a South Florida Region renewal for the 2025 membership. 

We originally had 103 members register for the event so we had plenty of left over BBQ, but nothing went to waste, all leftovers were donated by Manny & Millie Garcia to Zasha Gomez-Chavez & Jesus Chavez who  packed and delivered to downtown Miami to feed some of the homeless.
