2025 South Florida Region Holiday Gala

The Holiday Gale (Party) this year was at the same location we celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the club earlier this year. The Miami Outboard Clyb hosted both events and did an amazing job.  Thanks to member Tony Hernandez for all the assistance with the MOC  in getting everything ready.  In charge of decorating Yovanna Hernandez, Millie Garcia, Al and Miriam Padilla  did an amazing creative job as always.  The venuw was set up with a very festive holiday theme and colors in red and white.

As the members arrived they were greeted by Jean and Ed and guided to the cocktail hour by the Tiki bar, appetizers and beverages were served as the club members mingled and awaited to enter into the main ballroom. At 7:15 the members were welcomed into the main dinning room as they collected their name cards on the way way inside. Once everyone was inside president Tomas Hernandez opened up with a welcoming to everyone, then Manny Garcia said a blessing over the whole evening. Then the DJ tony announced that each table would be called in order to take pictures at the step and repeat and Al Padilla would be acting photographer. During the picture time the staff started bringing out and serving bread and salads

As the dinner was being served the Swearing in Ceremony was conducted, swearing in the new 2026 Board of Directors. Ira Shapiro presided over the swearing in of the board as the clubs Parliamentarian, the 2026 board welcomed in 4 new members on the board Junior Valdes, Tony Hernandez, Alejandro Clay and Angel Aulet.  After the swearing in took place, Tomas Hernandez presented the ‘Steering Wheel’ to newly sworn in president elect Al Padilla, to conclude the board ceremonies.

Then Ed Medina presented the clubs annual donation to the Neva King Cooper School for Special Needs and accepting on their behalf was Cliff Gibson. Cliff spoke a little bit towards what the school does and how they are a 100% school for children with special needs.  Tomas Hernandez alsdo presented the Member of the Year award to Angel Aulet.

After almost everyone had finished dinner a short fun session of raffles and give aways took place as the beautifully decorated cake done by Gina Medina was being cut and served. Then the fun began, an evening of all different styles and genres of music and the members danced and celebrated away.  During this time there was also an open air photo booth provided by the Infinity Sound  and Tony with plenty of gag props provided for fun photo selfies.  Around 10pm we had a second session of raffle give away in the form of Gift Cards, the members that stuck around for the fun and music took home a little extra!  the dancing and celebration continued until 11pm it was an amazing evening has by everyone that attended.

2023 South Florida Region Holiday Party

What an amazing evening at the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, a wonderful way to finish the year off and celebrate the beginning of new year for the hobby. With over 80 members in attendance the evening was spent amongst great company and friends. The evening started off in a reception area with a table of cheese and cold cuts awaiting the group before being ushered into the dining room for the main event.

With lively music and a beautifully decorated dining / ballroom elegant area we sat down to an amazing dinner. After dinner we had a bit of formal celebration welcoming the new Board of Directors for 2024 and the addition of new board members, Paula Perez, George Harvey, Tom Kosky, Jorge Salazar and Ben Cardonne. The club bestowed the Most Valuable Member of the Year award to Tomas Hernandez for all his contributions and Millie Garcia passed off the Steering Wheel (literally) to Tomas Hernandez as the new President for 2024.

Holiday Party – December 11, 2021

On a balmy Saturday we gathered at the Winston Park Community Center to celebrate the holidays with good food, gifts and the company of our fellow members. Several members drove their classic cars and parked in a nice grassy lot reserved for them. With our members moving about the tables, and judging from the constant din of conversation punctuated by laughter, everyone was having a good time. When we were finished dining on Caesar Salad, roast beef, chicken, roast potatoes, seasoned vegetables, rolls and decadent desserts we had some club business to attend to. Out-going President Ira Shapiro called up the new board of directors and administered the oath of office. His last official act of office was passing the steering wheel of Office of the President to incoming President to Millie Garcia.

We then proceeded to raffling off gifts to everyone. There were many oohs and aahs as the gifts were displayed for all to see. All in all, everyone had a good time and left with a full stomach and gift bags in hand.

Here are some photos from the day.

Holiday Party – December 14, 2019

The annual Holiday Party was held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 94th Aero Squadron. The tables were decorated with a holiday motif. A member at each table drew a number so that we wouldn’t trample each other getting to the buffet and overwhelm the buffet line. The guests were all given a raffle ticket for some door prizes, and a few of the lucky numbers won gas cards and restaurant cards. President Manny Garcia thanked individual board members for their many contributions in running the many car and social events held throughout the year. The newly and re-elected board members were introduced and will be sworn in at the next board meeting.

The honor of the Most Valuable Member went to Luis Quevedo. His support of the club sets a fine example for every member of the club and embodies the true spirit of the hobby and our club.

Thanks to Millie Garcia for the great job in heading up this fun event.
